Today, I’ll brief you about the things I hate the most about content writing jobs.

And Hey! It will make you think that if I hate content writing jobs so much, why I am still doing them?

Hold on till the end to know the secret!

10 Things I Hate about Content Writing Jobs

SEO taking over creativity

No doubt, SEO is important to rank in the search engines.

However, many newbie writers face this difficulty. In the hoard to rank, we let SEO take upon our creativity as a writer.

Even the clients for whom we work stress more upon SEO and keywords rather than being creative.

Researching the content

Yet another thing I hate is researching about the content.

Okay! Okay! I understand research is important.

But, I feel bored while doing this task.

While writing about any topic to give genuine information, I have to search a lot. And for me, this task is not that easy. Sometimes, it also creates confusion for me due to the plethora of information on the topic.

The solitude and the struggles

As a content writer, I have to prove my skills daily. You can’t learn them by going to the college or joining some classes. To become a pro writer, you have to put in a lot of efforts and practice.

Though I love reading a lot, but proving my talent and putting in so many efforts sometimes feels like a struggle.

Ups and downs in getting published

To get your content published is a big challenge in itself.

There are a lot of good writers who just write to express themselves on social platforms. They choose writing on social platforms as they want their content to be read by many people and in doing so, they don’t have to face the problem of publishing their content.

The ups and down in your content publishing makes you feel a little demotivated.

Making myself disciplined about writing

Generally it sucks when no one pays me for the work and efforts I put in writing. Till your content is not famous, your work has no value to the outer world. And you won’t bag any client.

I have to make myself disciplined about the daily writing task. This is something I hate.

Consumes a lot of time

It takes a lot of time and effort to make your mark as a content writer.

So it makes me a little nervous.

Scarcity of facts and ideas

In the time, when everyone wants to do the quick things, none wants to do the research work.

There is a huge scarcity of good content on social sites. And in such an atmosphere, rumors and falsity grow quickly.

So, this is really bad as we easily get influenced by such environment.

Bad writing

I hate bad writing the most. When you defend yourself at some point, and want to create the atmosphere according to yourself, it comes under a ‘bad writing’ category.

We describe all good things and don’t wanna expose ourselves. And this is the most hated thing I consider. A writer should never be ashamed of writing the truth in their content.

Editing the writing after the first draft

Frankly speaking, editing is the worst thing in content writing jobs. As a writer, it tires me. Reading my content again and again, just for finding two or three bugs makes me sad sometimes.

Nevertheless, I still follow these content editing tips to deliver a ‘Wow’ content.

It takes all my energy

It takes all my energy and sometimes we can’t focus on other work. While doing some content writing jobs, it takes our mind. Writers and lawyers have one thing in common, FORGETFULNESS!

They always have in their content fuzzing their mind which takes away their energy.

Conclusion on Content Writing Jobs

Looking at these 10 things I hate about content writing jobs, I may seem mad to you.

Or maybe you can relate to my situation as you agree with me on these points.

But, still we are sticking to our content writing jobs! Aren’t we?

Why?

Simply because of these reasons:

  • It helps to find ourself; our uniqueness, our strengths, and weaknesses
  • It gives us a clarity of mind
  • It improves our communication skills, both verbal and written

So, whatever be the reason to hate content writing jobs, I have also found my reasons to love and stick to them.

  1. Hey, I’m a budding content writer, I never in my wildest dreams imagined that I would be writing content to be very honest. I recently graduated and started my job in a company serving to a niche market. I write content for the website and social media handle for my company. Its been 4 months since I joined and started my journey as a content writer. At the very beginning, I really enjoyed it, but soon I got really bad reviews, some scolding for my writing. I felt degected and demotivated to a point that I thought to quit the job and search for a new one. I don’t know something held me back and is still holding me from quitting. I do have a love for writing and expressing myself through words. In frustration, I searched on Google “I hate content writing ” not expecting any results since I know its all a game of SEO. Anyway I came across your article on 10 reasons I hate content writing and I never felt so relatable in my entire life. Thanks for sharing these points, it made me realise that it is not the writing that I hate but somewhere the process of content writing, especially the research and review part. Nevertheless I know I should be loving the process. I’m still in process to fall in love with the process.
